Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Akron, Ohio. The successful candidate will join our team to support us in managing our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The role requires an individual skilled in both onsite and hybrid work environments, and able to handle responsibilities efficiently. Responsibilities • Managing financial transactions and maintaining accurate records. • Reconciliation of accounts to ensure their accuracy. • Utilizing bookkeeping software, specifically Power Church Plus, to record, store, and analyze information. • Processing payments for various services, including utilities, lawn care, and other miscellaneous bills. • Preparing and conducting month-end close procedures. • Handling payroll duties for permanent staff members including a Pastor, Worship Leader, and Janitor. • Executing data entry tasks with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Conducting bank reconciliations promptly and accurately. • Keeping track of accounts receivable and payable. • Using Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks for various bookkeeping tasks. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Bookkeeper role or similar position. • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation and understanding of its best practices. • Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). • Capability to perform Bank Reconciliations effectively and efficiently. • Demonstrable skills in Bookkeeping and adherence to accounting standards. • High proficiency in Data Entry with attention to detail and accuracy. • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting. • Experience in Month End Close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate reporting. • Ability to manage Payroll, including processing, distribution, and record-keeping. • Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software for financial management and operations.
