Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and self-starting Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting and finance, particularly in managing general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll coordination, and financial reporting. You will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate tracking of project costs, coordinating sales tax payments, and maintaining comprehensive financial records.
ResponsibilitiesTracking timesheets and hourly billingsManaging construction billings and tracking project costs through ExcelHandling all AR/AP invoices and paymentsCoordinating payroll with third-party servicesCollecting and coordinating sales tax for NJ and NYMaintaining the general ledger, preparing monthly reports, and reconciling bank statementsReviewing insurance policies, including health, general liability, and workman's compensationPreparing 1099 forms for vendors and subcontractorsAnswering phones as requiredEssential SkillsProficiency in general ledger management and bookkeepingExperience with QuickBooks or Quicken (5-10 years required)Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office productsAbility to process invoices, reconcile bank statements, and manage journal entriesKnowledge of financial statements, P&L, balance sheets, and AR reportsAdditional Skills & QualificationsDegree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldExperience in architecture and construction industry is a plusWork Environment
This is a solo role working alongside the principal architect in a small office setting. The position requires being on-site at least three times a week. The successful candidate must be meticulous, a self-starter, able to work independently, and have a keen interest in creative design and finance. The company offers a 401k and profit sharing plan for full-time employees.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00
