Job Description

We are seeking a bookkeeper to cover a medical leave at our financial institution's Vancouver Head Office. The ideal candidate will have experience in full cycle accounting or bookkeeping and be eager to learn and develop their skills further.

ResponsibilitiesRecording receipts, payments, and invoices in the accounting systemCutting cheques for invoicesDepositing cheques (an asset if experienced with bank cheque deposit machines)Essential Skills1+ years of full cycle accounting or bookkeeping experienceDegree or diploma in accountingStrong command of English language (written and verbal)Experience in accounts payable and accounts receivableProficiency in bookkeeping and general ledgerExperience with month-end processes and financial reportingKnowledge of EFT, GST, and Sage 50 accounting softwareAdditional Skills & QualificationsProficiency with SageExperience in the financial industryInterest in the financial industryOutgoing and enthusiastic personalityEasy-going and curious nature, interested in learning new thingsWork Environment

The office has a modern, family feel with a total of around 14 people, including an accounting team of 4 resources. It is a quiet group with some introverted members. The role reports to the Accounting Manager. The dress code is business casual. The schedule is Monday to Friday, and the office is transit-friendly with free parking available. This role requires 100% in-office attendance.
