Bookkeeper
Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a well rounded F/C Bookkeeper in the construction industry, located in ALBANY, New York, 12210. This role entails dealing with numerous tasks in a fast-paced construction office environment, including software proficiency, construction familiarity, bookkeeping support, independent work, and team collaboration. Responsibilities: • Efficiently use Sage and QuickBooks software for managing project data, tracking costs, and creating reports • Provide assistance and training to team members on software utilization when required • Demonstrate a clear understanding of construction processes and bidding procedures to support project management tasks • Handle basic bookkeeping tasks, which include accounts payable operations and fundamental construction accounting activities • Work effectively in an autonomous environment, managing multiple tasks with precision and efficiency • Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines • Work collaboratively within a fast-paced construction office environment, contributing to seamless workflow and a positive work culture Requirements • Proficiency in the use of Sage Timberline software is required. • Demonstrated experience in Job Cost accounting. • Proven ability to maintain accurate financial records and prepare clear and accurate reports for informational, auditing and operational use. • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices. • Proficiency in relevant computer applications, particularly Excel. • Ability to reconcile accounts, records, reports and journals. • Capable of preparing financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries. • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to spot numerical errors. • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Good verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. • A minimum of a high school diploma, although an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
