Bookkeeper
Description A client of ours who is a small, family-oriented luxury remodeling company passionate about creating exceptional spaces for our clients is seeking a Bookkeeper. As the Bookkeeper, you will be a vital part of our team, taking ownership of our financial recordkeeping and supporting overall operations with expertise in managing accounts, expenses, and reporting. You’ll work closely with leadership to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in all financial matters. This is an ideal position for someone who excels in a small business environment and enjoys working with a team that values excellence and integrity. Key Responsibilities: + Maintain accurate financial records for accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger functions. + Process and record vendor invoices, client payments, and expense reports with precision. + Prepare invoices for clients and follow up on outstanding accounts to ensure timely payments. + Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records regularly. + Run weekly, monthly, and ad hoc financial reports for management review. + Assist with payroll processing and ensure proper tax filings and compliance. + Organize and maintain financial documents, receipts, and vendor contracts for audit readiness. + Work with the leadership team to prepare budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow analyses. + Support the preparation of year-end financial statements and tax filing documents. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations and best practices. Requirements Key Qualifications: + Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a related role (preferably in the construction/remodeling industry). + Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. + Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and proactively manage tasks within deadlines. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills for vendor, client, and team interactions. + Knowledge of job costing or project-based accounting is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: + Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. + Familiarity with luxury remodeling, construction, or high-end service industries. + Experience working in a small business, wearing multiple hats.
