Bookkeeper
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in our CPA Firm located in Nottingham, Maryland. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing all financial transactions, from fixed payments and variable expenses to bank deposits and budgets. Your duties will involve organizing our company’s financial records, including payroll, and ensuring we are compliant with legal requirements. Responsibilities: • Ensuring all payroll transactions are processed efficiently • Gathering information on hours worked for each employee • Calculating the correct amount incorporating overtime, deductions, bonuses etc. with assistance of a computer system • Receiving approval from upper management for payments when needed • Preparing and executing pay orders through an electronic system or distributing paychecks • Administering statements of payment to personnel either electronically or on paper • Processing taxes and payment of employee benefits • Keeping track of hourly rates, wages, compensation benefit rates, new permanent information etc. • Addressing issues and questions regarding payroll from employees and superiors • Preparing reports for upper management, finance department etc. Requirements • Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper • Extensive knowledge and application of Bookkeeping and Basic Bookkeeping functions • Proficiency in using QuickBooks for various financial operations • In-depth understanding of Payroll systems, including Full Cycle Payroll and Multi-state Payroll • Familiarity with Tax - Payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws • High proficiency in Excel for data management and analysis • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • A degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred.
