JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Mechanic performs general maintenance of facilities/equipment and completes necessary paperwork associated with maintenance activities to support production requirements.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyzing and repair of mechanical problems associated with fork trucks, air compressors, and piping systems.Repair and maintenance of FRP equipment.Fabrication of wood and steel items.Troubling shooting and repair of electrical systems including motor controls and lighting circuits.Technical manuals and code requirements.Maintenance records and required paperwork.Environmental issues.Maintenance of grounds.Facility cleaning / Janitorial responsibilitiesMay perform other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:     

Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.Technical training in mechanical/electrical field or maintenance mechanics required.

Experience:    

Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical/electrical systems/equipment in a manufacturing/industrial environment.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/schematics.PC based software experience preferred.Ability to work with fellow coworkers in close proximity and in a team environment displaying mutual respectAbility to fluently speak, read, understand, and write English

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Proactive team player who is a self-starter with constant attention to improvement.Ability to remain extremely focused and organized with a high-attention to detail / high degree of accuracy.Able to work with multiple priorities and people.Marine experience preferred but not required

SHIFT & WORK SCHEDULE

Boston Whaler has multiple shifts available to fit a variety of schedule. The standard work schedule for this position is Monday – Thursday 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM. Occasional overtime may be required based on scheduling and business needs, including non-schedule workdays or irregular hours.An hourly premium shift differential is available for employees working night shift and weekends

Shop floor working environment. Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.Frequent exposure to high-temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikesRequired to wear safety glasses, Tyvex aprons, half mask respirator, and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals. Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.Ability to work a 10+ hour shift standing, bending, reachingAbility to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.Vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $25.65, hourly.  The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.  In addition to base pay, this position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus or short-term incentive program.
