Job Description:

The Operator is responsible for running the Packsize Machine, the Hot Melt Glue Station , the Ream Cutter and the Rollem scoring machine safely, producing conforming cases and internal packing materials at a high rate of speed to meet production demands with minimal waste.  Must complete startup checks and maintain quality consistent with cGMP practices and specifications.  Must complete all production documentation. Must communicate with Team Leads , PreMR and crew members to quickly solve any problems.  Must complete make readies on the Packsize , Ream Cutter and Rollem Scoring machine efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Monitor raw material inventoriesOperate lift truck, pallet lifts and pallet jacks.Organize finished cases/materials in the rack/row/bin warehouse.Communicate with the Planner/Buyers regarding Finishing Spec Sheet InfoCommunicate with the Shipping Dept to receive raw materials and Pre Buy CasesReview schedule board / work to list from PreMR to know approximately how much more cases are to make and glue.Check and understand all operations of the PackSize Machine.Able to make machine adjustments in order to maintain machine at safety, quality and production standardsPromote teamwork within crew to minimize machine downtimeCheck for scrap and quality defects on flat stock; continuously check for quality defects of the finished productMust strive to find ways to reduce variability in manufacturing processes to increase qualityMust do startup check for size and function prior to startup.Be willing to try new methods and engage in a problem solving cultureBe sure work area is kept clean at all times- identifies items in the work area that are no longer used and alerts leadership. Finds ways to label and create visual markings to make tools/parts easy to find and returnUse and wear all protective gear as required (ear plugs, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets)Make Ready: Set up PackSize , Ream Cutter and Rollem Scoring Machine to precise measurements and alignments within allotted time for next production runPerform other duties as assigned by manager, supervisor, lead person

Essential Functions:

Lift up to 25 lbs. regularly, up to 50 lbs intermittently and up to 75 lbs rarely.Stand up to 11 hours per day.Bend, twist, climb, squat, kneel occasionally throughout the shift.Uses hands for simple and power grasping, as well as push, pull and fine manipulation.Work at and/or below shoulder level.
