Job Description:
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Team Lead is responsible for the daily coordination of assigned area. This includes training and monitoring production processes of a small group of team members. In addition, this position will be responsible for providing a safe work environment, ensuring standard work is being performed, maintaining 5S levels, identifying and resolving quality issues, identifying, and resolving quality issues, implementing lean concepts and improvements, addressing line stop/lost production issues, collecting data and maintaining visual displays, participating in TIP Events, and filling in for absent team members on an as needed basis per supervisor’s request.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Experience & Qualifications:
HS diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 1 year experience with PIT equipment. Current PIT license preferred.
Minimum of 2-years previous experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Possess a good understanding of Lean and its principles.
Understands the importance of continuous improvement/change and demonstrates a positive mind set and assists supervisors/managers in establishing positive/constructive change management with all warehouse personnel.
Actively engages in projects not limited to but including inventory moves, racking configuration, and bin changes, work cell and 5s layout changes, and work instruction evaluation and revisions as assigned.
Flexibility and ability to work in an environment that is fluid with constantly changing priorities and continually improving.
Ability to learn quickly and work independently and as part of a team.
Self-motivated and ability to work without constant direction.
Knowledge of inventory control.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to make timely and independent decisions.
Comfortable and experienced working both with PC and RF mobile equipment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work in adverse weather conditions.
Intermediate Microsoft Office Skills.
This position requires a complete understanding of all processes in the area of assignment sufficient to organize a small work team, train new team members, examine work results, and complete production requirements.
Requires sufficient human relations skill to conduct one-on-one training and achieve harmony with team members.
Excellent customer service focus and the ability to handle stress and often work at an urgent pace.
Requires sufficient problem-solving skills to troubleshoot situations such as labor and material shortages, tool and equipment problems, while maintaining productivity.
Requires the ability to perform the various aspects of the job. Requires sufficient reasoning ability to understand detailed, yet repetitive, written, and oral instructions, and solve straightforward, immediate problems. Requires the ability to perform arithmetic calculations and read and record detailed measurements, counts, distances, and times. Requires the ability to learn and understand safety, continuous quality, and just-in-time within a reasonable period of time. Requires the ability to instruct others.
Requires the ability to lift, pull, push, and guide medium weight objects up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop, bend, and crawl on a continuous basis.
Requires sufficient hand-arm-eye coordination to guide objects into specific placement or alignment, make intricate connections, and make precise measurements.
Requires visual acuity to observe moving objects and events, select, and place materials.
Requires auditory ability to project voice in a production environment and hear instructions.
