Are you ready to make a significant impact and help shape the future? We’re seeking a dedicated Braille Transcriber to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to work with students aged 14 to 18, providing them with the tools they need to succeed. This position is 100% in person.
What’s in it for you?
A competitive salary of $30 – $36 per hour A consistent schedule of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday All the necessary equipment provided to set you up for successYour Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Accurately transcribe written material into literary Braille, tactile, and large print material Tutor students in correct Braille usage, providing one-to-one and group instruction Relay technical needs for the blind and visually impaired to program instructors and/or administrators Assist in establishing and maintaining a learning environment essential to the learning goals and curriculum outcomes Evaluate and specify the direction of instruction to Amergisize the student’s learning potential Follow behavioral management strategies and techniques identified by the program instructor Assist in organizing and preparing instructional materials Perform other duties as assigned
What we need from you: A Certificate from the Library of Congress in Literary Braille is a must-have!
