Program Summary

The Marine Corps Prepositioning Program (MCPP) is based in Jacksonville, Florida. We provide maintenance and logistic services to the U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) in support of this program.  For over 35 years we have planned, coordinated, and executed the maintenance and logistic services for ground combat vehicles and support equipment for USMC Expeditionary Forces.

Job Summary

Provides leadership by directing the efforts of personnel involved in providing a variety of support to programs involved with Supply, Property, Transportation, and Disposal. Responsible for the overall performance of the assigned department or function. Provides operational oversight to ensure work is accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. Insures awareness and monitors employee compliance with all applicable company directives, policies, and procedures. Coordinates activities involving the customer, other organizations, and/or company functions. Responsible for defining training requirements, developing employee skills, and promoting continuous improvement. Develops and implements performance standards and internal controls. Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree and 8-10 years of experience.

Roles and Responsibilities


Assists Management in providing overall direction and oversight to personnel performing diverse logistics management operations required to support the MCPP Program, such as forecasting requirements, storage, inventory control, tracking productivity, material movement, packing, loading of containers and mobile loads, staging of equipment for ship backload operations, loading and offloading ships, management of material handling equipment, Tractor Trailer Operations, Heavy Equipment Operations and logistics systems management. Through subordinate supervisors/leads, coordinates activities of workers engaged in upkeep and operational maintenance to obtain optimal use of equipment, facilities, and personnel, and supporting tools and special test equipment. Interpret specifications, drawings, work requirements, technical instructions, and layouts. Through subordinate supervisors, ensures all completed work is in compliance with specifications and time schedules aligned with the Statement of Work. Reviews and analyze operations reports to determine requirements and make recommendations to management that will improve overall efficiency. Assists in the approval of requisitions for equipment, materials and supplies within limits of the department budget. Performs administrative management tasks and prepares related management reports. Assists in the formulation of administrative and operations policies and procedures and ensures compliance with administrative policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations. Provides technical guidance/assistance and makes decisions where written guidelines are not available. Plans and manages human resource activities within assigned area of responsibility, and within an organized labor-union environment. Supervises direct reports. Establishes performance objectives/goals. Supervises the requisitioning, receipt and allocation of tools, parts, and material requirements. Establishes and supervises production line and established processes and procedures. Recommends changes to procedures as appropriate. Maintains MCPP ISO policies and procedures and ensures on-going compliance with such. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

Ten (10) years of directly related work experience in a logistics operation support environment, including four years of supervisory experience.BS degree with a major study in logistic engineering, property control/inventory, supply management, accounting or related field.In lieu of a degree, a combination of college credits, other formalized training or education, and directly related work experience may be considered.Working knowledge of MCPIC, GCSS-MC, and Microsoft Project Systems.In-depth knowledge Container and Mobile Load Operations, Equipment Staging, Ship offload and backload operations, Tractor Trailer and Heavy Equipment Operations, warehousing, and material handling.Strong written and oral communication skills.Working knowledge of MCPP program.Working knowledge of SL 1-2 and SL 1-3.Working knowledge of FEDLOGS.Working knowledge of EXCEL/ACCESS software and/or Microsoft.Working knowledge of personal computers and the ability to prepare ad-hoc reports as required to support branch activities.Familiarity with labor relations - union interaction.Ability to comply with all established methods, quality standards, and time schedules applicable to this position.
