Brand Account Manager - Beauty and Personal Care

We are looking for a motivated and experienced Brand Account Manager to join our Beauty and Personal Care team!

You will be responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and developing business with Beauty & Personal Care Brands to grow at above-market growth rates. To drive differentiated portfolio share, you will manage Univar Solutions’ relationship with multinational and independent Brands (headquartered in North America).

 

What you’ll do

Own Indie, National and Global brand relationships for Differentiated products high, wide, and deep to capture above market value. Build profitable relationships by bringing stocking agreements across the US using strategic pricing. Respond quickly and proactively to new market segments and applications focusing on Marketing, Supply Chain, Sales, and Product Development. Work with trusted consultants and formulators within the market to build and maintain a prospect list of emerging Brands. Continue to leverage relationships with Indie brands before and after they are acquired to gain new business opportunities. Contract existing and new brand business, capturing both direct and indirect spending. Connect and communicate brand data to global colleagues. Build and maintain a visible brand owner pipeline that is aligned with business objectives and moves brand business successfully. Work collaboratively with the Corporate Account Team to provide Multinational Brands with resources needed to support the sales strategy. Provide Indie Brands, access to key suppliers, technical and lab support and implement contracted direct buy programs. Work with Regional and Global Brands to increase our sales pipeline with contract manufacturers and provide unified pricing and stocking strategies to ensure timely production.

 

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related fields. Successful experience (5 years minimum) in Beauty and Personal Care Sales, Marketing, and/or technical experience (R&D or formulation). Experience working with brands and consultants within the Beauty and Personal Care industry and experience negotiating with senior managers. Successful experience across multiple Brand types, ranging from emerging indie to global brands. Ability to develop a strategic vision and the market research skills to support this development. High level of decision-making skill and ability to work across boundaries to drive complex partnerships and programs. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to handle complex projects and multi-task responsibilities. Strong financial acumen, project orientation, and analytical and financial interpretation skills. Projects a professional and positive image both inside and outside of the company. PC literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and various business systems.

 

Where you'll work

This is a home-based opportunity, covering Los Angeles and Orange County as the territory. Preference for candidates in the Los Angeles, CA area.

 

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $106,180 - $169,900. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive pay.  Available employee benefits include health, vision, and dental.  We also provide 401k matching for retirement and paid time off.
