Job Description

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Brand Manager is responsible for the hands-on execution of brand strategies and marketing initiatives to drive customer engagement, market share, and brand equity. This role demands a strong focus on operational excellence, project management, and collaboration across multiple stakeholders to ensure the smooth execution of all brand activities

 

KEY RESULT AREAS

 

Day-to-Day Brand Management

Act as one of the main points of contact for the brand across internal teams and external partners.Maintain and update brand assets, ensuring all materials align with the brand’s guidelines.Coordinate approvals for marketing materials, campaigns, and promotional assets.Conduct regular audits of branded content across platforms to ensure consistency and quality.

Campaign Execution

Implement end-to-end marketing campaigns, including briefing agencies, managing timelines, and overseeing production.Monitor campaign execution to ensure alignment with the brand’s objectives and timelines.Coordinate with digital marketing teams and community management to manage social media activities.Assist with planning and executing advertising campaigns product launches, promotional events, and partnerships.

Project & Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, digital marketing and customer service, to support brand-related activities.Manage relationships with creative agencies, media partners, and vendors to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.Organize regular status meetings to review campaign progress and address any challenges.Manage the onboarding and contracting with suppliersEnsure supplier invoices are settled timeously

Market Research & Insights

Conduct competitor analysis and gather customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities.Stay updated on industry trends and share actionable insights with the team.Budget & Performance ManagementManage day-to-day budget tracking and ensure cost-effective allocation of resources.Regularly analyze campaign performance against KPIs, such as engagement, reach, and ROI.

Brand monitoring and protection

Manage relationships with research providers and manage the research processManage FAQ's, run weekly meetings with social media teamTogether with Community manager; lookout for brand infringement

Public relations

Build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, influencers, and media to enhance the brand's reputation

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

 

Skills

Project Management Skills such as organisation; attention to detail, time management, problem-solving and ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.Communication & Collaboration skills such as stakeholder management, clear Communication and interpersonal skillsMarketing & Branding Expertise including strong understanding of branding principles and methodologies.Budget Management including resource allocation and cost managementProficiency in social media management

Education and Experience

Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related fieldProven experience in brand management in a large corporate, preferably in the financial services sector ( 5 - 10 years)Hands-on experience with planning and implementing marketing campaigns across various channels.

ResponsibilitiesMarketing

Oversee a particular area, product, or service within the larger marketing strategy. Involves managing development or delivery (or both).

Brand Strategy and Effectiveness

Serve as ambassador for the essence of the brand and/or maintain a portfolio of brands, defining the measures used to determine brand effectiveness and using the results to inform future activities.

Brand Positioning

Assist in achieving brand positioning, and lead on contributing ideas to brand plans.

Business Planning

Contribute to the development of annual and longer-term business plans; forecast performance against business key performance indicators (KPIs); develop business cases for key activities/projects; and estimate the financial and human resources required to deliver performance targets.

Leadership and Direction

Communicate the actions needed to implement the function's strategy and business plan within the team; explain the relationship to the broader organization's mission, vision, and values; motivate people to commit to these and to do extraordinary things to achieve local business goals.

Product and Solution Development

Analyze and evaluate the feasibility and relevance of proposed complex products and services and develop and amend, as necessary, with guidance from senior colleagues. May also be responsible for supervising activities performed by a product development or specialist team.

Stakeholder Engagement

Develop stakeholder engagement by identifying stakeholders; by finding out their needs, issues, and concerns; and by reacting to these needs, issues, and concerns to support the communication of business information and decisions.

Product Management

Take responsibility for all aspects of a life cycle of a product or set of products, including long- and short-term development and marketing. Stay abreast of trends in the marketplace to ensure the product's competitive position.

Organizational Capability Building

Use the organization's formal development framework to identify the team's individual development needs. Plan and implement actions, including continuing professional development specified by professional or regulatory institutions, to build their professional capabilities. Provide informal training or coaching to others throughout the organization in own area of expertise to enable others to improve performance and fulfill personal potential.

Performance Management

Manage and report on the performance of a substantial, diverse team; set appropriate performance objectives for direct reports or project/account team members and hold individuals accountable for achieving them; take appropriate corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of team/personal objectives.

Budgeting

Deliver a budget for an area of the organization or conduct complex analyses on budget progress in other areas of the organization.

Portfolio Management

Plan and deliver small projects or workstreams, using an appropriate project management methodology to give assurance that intended outcomes are achieved.
