Brand Marketing Manager - Menu Strategy

JOB SUMMARY

The Marketing Manager, Brand & Menu Strategy plays a critical role for the Denny’s brand taking the lead responsibility for developing plans and executing marketing initiatives in support of driving menu innovation, product development and communication. The Manager leads menu support for national, regional, holiday and special menus, which help reinforce the brand’s overall marketing strategy.
 

The Manager collaborates with Marketing Strategy, Brand Activation, Digital, Product Development, Consumer Insights, Agency Partners, Field Marketing, Procurement, IT, Operations, Merchandising and Finance teams to ensure that all new product offerings and platforms for every menu remain relevant to consumers and can effectively drive incremental sales and profitable traffic while ensuring these initiatives are communicated clearly and implemented effectively.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (Key Responsibilities)

In partnership with Marketing VP and Director of Marketing Strategy, develops strategic marketing plans that focus on driving the Core Menu to deliver profitable system traffic.Oversees Denny’s core menu testing efforts from planning, development, execution, and analysis as well as communications, inventory management, pricing, projections, and operational feedback.Manages  implementation process for all menu launches, working closely with all functional areas to ensure flawless execution, flagging risks and missed deadlines as needed keep the project on track.Aligns internal cross functional partners, communicates & presents plans to key stakeholders.Partners with Brand Insights, Product Development, Brand Activation and Digital teams to identify key areas of opportunity for innovation that will meet existing customer needs and drive traffic and online transactions for our restaurants.Writes strategic briefs for internal and agency partners to guide the development of products and/or creative material, enabling them to deliver on the project's strategic vision.Consults with Brand Activation and Digital teams to ensure that in-restaurant and digital creative materials deliver on the brand strategy.Partners with Ops/Restaurant Readiness group to produce training materials for new marketing initiatives and train stores as needed.Communicates test results, and key learnings to internal leaders and Franchise partners to successfully sell-in core menu changes and programs.Lead project management efforts related to special projects, product / ops testing, and other initiatives as defined. Partners with Field Marketing to ensure seamless communication of all national, regional and other menu changes.Runs cross-functional team meetings and works with internal partners to populate key information.Attends committee and other meetings, capturing notes on discussions and next steps.Other duties as assigned. 

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

Education:

BA in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred or a equivalent amount of relevant work experience.

 

Experience:

7-10 years of consumer marketing experience; restaurant/retail experience required.Strong project management background.

 

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Demonstrates high-energy leadership while working with a team.Strong interpersonal and influencing skills; able to quickly build cooperative and productive relationships with internal business partners and external vendors.Excellent communication skills: verbal, written, and presentation. Demonstrated expertise with PowerPoint, Word, Excel and SmartSheet.Strong attention to detail.Exceptional organizational and time management skills.Ability to travel up to 10%.
