KYW Newsradio, an agenda-setting multiplatform newsroom in Philadelphia, is seeking an experienced, dynamic, creative journalist to cover breaking news and contribute original, enterprise reporting across all platforms: FM/AM radio, podcasting, KYWNewsradio.com, social media, and the Audacy app.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do:

Cover general assignment and breaking news on a day-to-day basis with live and recorded on-scene reportsWrite and produce multimedia reports for digital platformsPrepare and pitch ideas daily for agenda-setting enterprise news coverageContribute to news series and special projects Contribute reporting to daily and limited-series podcastsCultivate relationships with sources and community leaders Qualifications

Required & Preferred:

Bachelor’s Degree2-3 years of experience in a medium- or large-market multimedia newsroomExperience covering breaking news, live and unscriptedExcellent writing and communication skillsStrong editing, reporting and story development skillsAbility to evaluate news leads and news tips to develop story ideasStrong organizational skills and solid work ethicExcellent interpersonal skillsExperience with Adobe Audition, or similar audio editing programsAbility to work independently and be a self-starterWillingness to experiment and innovateA valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of applicant’s own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
