Summary:
Under the supervision of the WIC Coordinator and the Breastfeeding Coordinator, the Breastfeeding Advocate performs a variety of professional duties for participants of the Federal Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC) under the supervision of the WIC Coordinator and the Breastfeeding Coordinator
Requirements:
+ Acts as peer counselor, providing education and support to participants who are engaged in breastfeeding
+ Works with program management to develop and implement breastfeeding education
+ Provides direct services to participants in line with WIC program deliverables and expectations
+ Enters all services provided into WICSIS system in a timely manner
+ Receives referrals from other WIC program staff and provides outreach for participants who are in need of peer counseling services.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
+ Life experience as a WIC program participant and breastfeeding parent
+ Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle multiple assignments at any time
+ Ability to generate, interpret and analyze data from multiple sources
