DESCRIPTION

This position offers the opportunity to live and work in the great weather, mountains, and outdoor culture of Colorado, and be an integral part of the Denver Michael Baker bridge engineering team.  Our team has been and is currently working with local and regional clients on bridge inspection, load rating and design.

Under limited supervision, plan, design and analyze data on civil engineering projects such as bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures

Prepare moderately complex studies, construction documents, drawings, reports, details and supporting documentation Prepare quantities and construction costs estimates using CDOT or MDT procedures. Prepare detailed and complex reports detailing inspections, tests conducted and results. Prepare construction drawings needed for CDOT, MDT and Local Agency construction of bridges. Assist with defining scope of work and staff hour requirements. Assist with proposal production and implementing marketing initiatives. Assist project managers in meeting project/task schedules and budgets. Assists project managers and more experienced engineers in ensuring that project/task schedules and budgets are met Coordinates with technicians to ensure timely and accurate document or drawing preparation Responsible for maintaining knowledge through completion of various training initiatives:  attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training Occasional to moderate travel may be required Other duties as assigned

PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited university Master's Degree in Structural Engineering Preferred Working knowledge of AASHTO LRFD design code. Familiarity with AREMA code a plus. Experience with CSI Bridge or MIDAS (or equivalent structural analysis software), and Finite Element Modeling Proficient in MicroStation or AutoCAD Demonstrate initiative and attention to detail and accuracy. Self-motivated individual with strong written and verbal communication skills

COMPENSATION

The salary range for this position is $63,000-$91,000.   This will be dependent on the experience and expertise of the incoming candidate.
