Bridge CAD Technician

Freese and Nichols is currently seeking a CAD Technician for the Bridge Services group for one of our Texas offices including Austin, Corpus Christi, Dallas, Denton, El Paso, Fort Worth, Frisco, Houston, Lubbock, San Antonio, or San Marcos or in our Oklahoma City office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Develop bridge plans in collaboration with a team of engineers, EIT’s, and other CAD professionals.Follow internal procedures and best practices for bridge plans production.Develop bridge details using MicroStation following DOT CAD standards and styles.Draft detailed structural bridge drawings using MicroStation.Interpret sketches and redlines/mark-ups into finished construction drawings.Assemble plan submittals.Participate in training for bridge detailing and best practices.Communicate readily with team members in and out of the office.Assist in the management of local CAD libraries.Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Associate Degree in Engineering Technology (i.e. CADD; Drafting & Design Technology; General Engineering; or Design and Construction Technology) or comparable/related experience.Willingness to train in bridge plan production as needed.Ability to participate and work effectively in working relationships with teammates, clients, and sub-consultants.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in bridge plan production.Proficiency in Microstation Connect Edition.Familiarity with OpenBridge.
