Bridge Coating Inspectors

GPI is seeking highly qualified Bridge Coatings Inspectors to work on various projects throughout Michigan.  Experience working with Department of Transportation agencies is a major plus.  Work is anticipated to start in early Spring/mid-summer of 2024.

Responsibilities:

Physically inspect, accept, and/or reject work performed as detailed by contract specifications or applicable codes.Prepare daily inspection reports on conditions, progress, weather, and acceptability of work.Oversight of containment systems, waste collection, storage, and disposal.Review and reporting of Maintenance of Traffic may be required.Extended travel and travel to multiple job sites may be required.Some assignments may include night shifts.Some assignments may involve working from elevated surfaces, necessitating the use of fall protection equipment.

Qualifications:

Only AMPP CIP Levels 1, 2, or 3 or BCI Level 1 Certified Coatings Inspectors will be considered.Lead training preferred (C – 3 Lead Competent Person).Bridge experience is preferred. Structural steel coatings experience is required.OSHA 10 training is required.Physical capacity to monitor construction work within arms-length distance is required.Preferred candidates will demonstrate expertise in working with a diverse range of complex bridge structures, encompassing riveted steel connections, lattice work, steel superstructures, trusses, cable-stayed bridges, arches, suspension bridges, tub girders, pedestrian structures, plate girder bridges, and similar architectural elements.
