Description and Responsibilities

At Open Sky we recognize the importance of person-centered mental health services. The Bridge Counseling Center serves individuals in the community as well as individuals who are served through other Open Sky programs in an outpatient capacity. We offer evidence-based practices, that include medication management and cognitive-behavioral treatments to support individuals with various clinical presentations. This includes Psychotic and Affective Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder, Substance use disorders and others.

 

The Registered Nurse is responsible for conducting psychiatric assessments, assessing physical health needs, making appropriate referrals, providing management and administration of medication in conjunction with the psychiatrist, providing a range of treatment, rehabilitation, and support services, and sharing shift-management responsibility with other staff. The registered nurse collaborates with the team, the individuals enrolled in services, and their collaterals to develop and revise comprehensive assessments and individualized treatment plans. Other Key Responsibilities:

Serves as a leader in integration of services under the core services provided by the Bridge Counseling Center.Support the medical needs of an individual through care coordination with other medical providers.Facilitate individual access to health care and community resources as appropriate to meet the needs of individuals in the community.Cultivate ongoing relationship with other health care providers to provide consistency in prescribed treatment procedures, techniques, etc. including follow-up or ongoing care following a hospitalization as needed.Monitor individuals served and address and mitigate any adverse physiological or psychiatric effects from changes in medication administered while receiving services. Qualifications Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts.Minimum of 1 year expereience working with adults with serious and persistent mental illness and substance use disorders, required. Experience with local resources, navigating health, behavioral health, and/or substance abuse treatment systems, required. Valid driver’s license, acceptable driving history and reliable transportation, required.  About Us
