Structural Bridge Engineer II – Transportation Infrastructure

Opportunity :

Our Parsons Atlanta office is now hiring for a mid-level experienced Bridge Design Engineer with a desire to work on infrastructure projects that change the fabric of our community.   Parsons' extensive experience in this field, combined with your developing engineering knowledge, will propel your career forward with opportunity for advancement with top performance.  We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in a highly flexible, team oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and management skills.   In this role, plan and design bridges and other structures for road/highway infrastructure projects. The engineer in this position will analyze and design bridge projects to ensure structural reliability, resource efficiency and cost-effectiveness and performs a variety of other engineering duties. This is an office based role, 5 days per week, and does not provide for hybrid remote working.

Responsibilities: 

Performs bridge engineering design tasks by producing structural calculations and help developing bridge plan sets.Independently develops and/or supervises the creation of structural engineering products that meet customer quality requirements. Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.May supervise one or more subordinates and provide input regarding performance.May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a lead engineer for a specific discipline on a small to intermediate size project.Provides input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters and other Engineers working on the same project.Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.  Develop project quantities and help with cost estimates

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural  Engineering, or a related field5 years or more of related work experience with bridge design engineering is requiredEngineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) certification is preferredProficiency in utilizing CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with the bridge engineering is required (Microstation preferred)

Desired Skills:

Master's Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis is desiredGDOT experience is highly desirable, but not required.

Salary Range: 

$68,400.00 - $142,600.00
