This posting is being used to fill two (2) vacancies. These positions are located at the Bridge Office in Oakdale and has the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. These positions support the Bridge Office by drafting final structural plans and architectural drawings and is also responsible for reviewing structural plans prepared by others. ** The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment. **Minimum Qualifications** + An Associate's degree in Architectural, Mechanical or Electrical Drafting OR two years of architectural, mechanical or electrical drafting experience. + Knowledge of engineering principles, practices and techniques sufficient to compute alignments and grades. + Knowledge and application of AutoCAD or Microstation. + Knowledge of geometry, trigonometry, algebra and mathematics. + Graphic skills sufficient to represent the three-dimensional quality of bridge components into a two-dimensional plan format. **Preferred Qualifications** + Knowledge of OpenBridge Modeler. + Knowledge of unique details required in bridge plans. + Knowledge of structural design aspects of several types of bridges. + Knowledge of materials and bridge construction methods. **Additional Requirements** **Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and criminal history check** It is our policy that all candidates submit to a background investigation prior to employment.
