Join our team and help us keep communities connected. **Your Opportunity** An opportunity exists for a Bridge Engineer in Training to become part of our dynamic Transportation Engineering group in Alberta. This position will be full-time in-office or hybrid from one of our offices in Edmonton, Calgary, or Red Deer, AB. Stantec’s Transportation Team has a strong local presence but also participates in some of Stantec’s largest and most complex transportation projects. These projects encompass the entire life of the transportation structure – from feasibility studies through detailed design and construction oversight. Are you excited by and passionate about this interesting and challenging field of engineering? **Your Key Responsibilities** + Execution and delivery of projects including planning, preliminary design and detail design. + Completing structural analysis, design for a variety of transportation structures. + Preparing design details and reports for various bridge types and other transportation structures. + Regular collaboration with colleagues in our multi-disciplined design office. + Undertaking bridge, culvert and other structural inspections to assess condition. + Quantity calculations and cost estimates **Qualifications** **Your Capabilities and Credentials** + Knowledge of relevant bridge design codes, particularly CHBDC. + Knowledge of MTO practice manuals, standards and policies Experience in structural routine inspections. + Working experience with structural modeling and design software such as SAP2000 or equivalent. + Proficient in Microsoft Office suite. + Strong written and verbal communication skills. + Enthusiastic attitude with interest in skills development and continual improvement. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. **Education and Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering focusing on structural engineering, with preference for individuals with a Master’s degree. + Registered or working toward Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) + 0-4 years of related work experience. Previous bridge-related work experience is an asset.
