Bridge Project Engineer

Freese and Nichols is seeking an experienced and skilled Bridge Engineer to perform PS&E bridge design. The ideal candidate will have experience performing all aspects of typical designs for bridge projects including for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The office location is flexible with a preference for either Austin, Houston, Fort Worth, San Antonio, or San Marcos. As a Bridge Project Engineer, you will perform bridge designs for PS&E projects, provide quality control reviews for bridge PS&E design calculations and plans, and provide technical guidance for EIT’s performing bridge designs.

Responsibilities for this role include:

Performing the role of Bridge Engineer for PS&E projects following FNI processes and working with project teams to coordinate the designs.Coordinating with multiple disciplines as needed to design bridge projects.Collaborating with the bridge engineering team to ensure continuity, consistency, and quality.Reviewing internal and external bridge PS&E plans and documents for compliance with federal, state, and local design requirements to ensure quality submittals.Providing technical training for FNI staff in bridge design processes for developing high quality calculations, details, and submittals.Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop high quality plans and production documents.
 

Qualifications

Required Credentials:

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil EngineeringProfessional Engineer Registration in Texas3+ years' experience in TxDOT bridge designStrong understanding of bridge engineering principles, construction techniques, and quality control standardsExcellent communication and coordination skills for engaging with project teams and clients

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

In-depth knowledge of TxDOT procedures, regulations, and documentation requirements for bridge PS&E
