**Job Summary**
The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement welcomes applications for lecturers to teach in our Bridge Scholars Program, running from June 2 to June 27, 2025. This is a short-term summer lecturer contract/appointment for the following courses:
_CU 101:_
+ This course equips students with essential skills for academic and personal growth. Topics include Academic Success, covering time management, self-advocacy, and academic advising; Career Planning, focusing on choosing a major, resume building, and interview preparation; and Student Involvement, exploring campus engagement opportunities. Students will also develop Financial Literacy by meeting with financial aid advisors to understand eligibility, SAP, and work-study options. Self-Development encourages critical self-reflection to leverage strengths for future success. Lastly, Campus Resources connects students with key support services like the Center for Inclusion and Social Justice, Study Abroad, Disability Resources to name a few.
_Health & Wellness Seminar:_
+ The Health and Wellness Seminar is a community course designed for students seeking to refine and develop skills to better support their physical and mental wellbeing while increasing their resilience and ability to persist through their degree. It is taught by Health Promotion staff with guest lectures from medical and public health experts on campus. Through active participation in this Health and Wellness Seminar, students will come to better recognize their strengths, identify areas to increase self- and community care strategies, as well as develop skills to better support their health and wellness both while in college and over their lifetimes.

The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement, which is part of Enrollment Management, partners with communities across Colorado and beyond to provide first-generation and low-income students and their families with comprehensive college preparation and social development programs.
These programs help support students academically and personally while in middle and high school and prepare them to transition successfully to post secondary opportunities. Continue to provide support to students that choose to attend the University of Colorado Boulder.
**What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be**
+ Plan and create a course syllabus
+ Maintain and track student grades and provide final grades for each student
+ Attend required training, weekly staff meetings, and end of summer celebration
+ Maintain active communication with Director of the program
+ Work with teaching assistants provided by the Bridge Scholars Program
**What You Should Know**
+ Participants of our programs are primarily first-generation students thus we require the instructor to have experience supporting and teaching our first-generation student population.
+ This position does require you to teach in-person, and as an employee of the university you will be required to abide by university policies.
+ This is a temporary appointment with the university as a lecturer and does not qualify for university benefits.
+ We strongly encourage the instructor to use a web-based platform for course deliverables and materials (if applicable).
+ The Office of Precollege Outreach and Engagement can provide, at no cost to the instructor, course materials and printing if requests are made two weeks in advance.
**What We Can Offer**
+ The compensation for teaching the Health & Wellness Seminar will be $1,068
+ The compensation for teaching CU 101 will be $1,423
