This role is critical in delivering high-quality, uninterrupted broadcasts by managing complex technical workflows, troubleshooting in real time, and optimizing production processes.Responsibilities:Live Broadcast Support: Provide frontline technical support for live productions, ensuring smooth operation of all broadcast technologies. Operate and maintain essential broadcast equipment, including video switchers, audio mixers, camera systems, and control systems. Independently configure and test equipment setups with and without event producers to ensure full functionality. Quickly diagnose and resolve technical issues in real time to minimize disruptions. Monitor critical systems (video, audio, media servers) during live broadcasts to ensure optimal performance. Technical Expertise in High-Pressure Environments: Serve as a key technical resource during live events, ensuring high production quality and efficiency. Implement and maintain failover procedures for critical systems, including audio, video, and media servers, to prevent broadcast interruptions. System Optimization & Configuration: Collaborate with production teams to optimize broadcast setups, troubleshoot configuration issues, and maintain high production standards. Work closely with Producers and Technical Directors to enhance workflows and improve operational efficiency. Documentation & Process Management: Maintain detailed documentation of signal flow, routing, failover processes, and operational workflows. Ensure clear, accessible documentation for technical production systems, including audio/video signal routing and system configurations. Contribute to best practices and standard operating procedures to improve broadcast workflow reliability. Collaboration & Innovation: Work cross-functionally with technical, production, and project management teams to implement innovative broadcast solutions. Stay current with emerging broadcast technologies, providing insights and recommendations to improve systems and capabilities. Qualifications:Experience & Background: 5+ years of experience in broadcast, live production, or content creation, with a proven track record of supporting live events. Hands-on experience in live sports, news, or entertainment programming. Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of broadcast systems, including: Video switchers (Blackmagic ATEM, Ross, Grass Valley). Audio consoles (Yamaha QL1, DM3, Avid S6L, Calrec). Intercom systems (Clear-Com, RTS, Unity Intercom). Broadcast control systems and NDI/IP-based video workflows. Proficient in HD, 4K, NDI, and IP networking for video/audio production. Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve technical issues in real time during live broadcasts. Preferred Skills: Experience with broadcast automation systems and content management platforms. Knowledge of post-production workflows and editing software (Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve) is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, working effectively with producers, technical directors, and cross-functional teams. Ability to stay calm and problem-solve under pressure in a fast-paced live production environment.
