Broadcast Media Booker for Reuters

Reuters, the world's largest multimedia news provider, is looking for a Broadcast Media Booker responsible for arranging appearances of Reuters journalists and executives on various broadcast platforms, including TV, radio, and podcasts, to support the company's business objectives during a period of significant change. This role in our NYC office involves coordinating with journalists, producers, and hosts to ensure seamless scheduling and preparation for media engagements. The successful candidate will be expected to pitch Reuters stories to broadcast contacts when necessary and, where capacity allows, to support the wider team. The scope of the role will be global with an initial focus on the USA and the UK.


About the Role

In this opportunity as a Broadcast Media Booker, your key responsibilities will be:
 

1. Media Booking:

Identify and secure opportunities for Reuters journalists to appear on TV, radio, and podcast shows.Establish and maintain relationships with producers, hosts, and media outlets.Negotiate and confirm booking details, including dates, times, and topics of discussion.Manage the requests which come into the editorial booking mailbox.

2. Coordination:

Coordinate schedules between journalists and media outlets to ensure availability and preparedness.Provide journalists with all necessary information and materials for their appearances.Ensure smooth logistical arrangements, including technical requirements and transportation if needed.

3. Preparation:

Assist journalists in preparing for their media appearances by providing background information, key talking points, and potential questions.Conduct pre-interview briefings and rehearsals if required.

4. Follow-Up:

Monitor and evaluate the success of media appearances.Gather feedback from journalists and media outlets to improve future bookings.Maintain records of all media appearances and outcomes.

5. Relationship Management:

Build and nurture strong relationships with key media contacts.Act as the main point of contact for media inquiries related to journalist appearances.

6. Reporting:

Provide regular reports on media booking activities and outcomes which demonstrate the value of this role to the organization.Analyze and report on trends and opportunities for increasing media exposure.


About You

You’re a fit for the role of Broadcast Media Booker if you have:

Proven experience in communications, booking, or a similar role.Strong network of contacts within the broadcast media industry.Excellent communication and negotiation skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.Knowledge of current media trends and the ability to identify relevant opportunities.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The location(s) for this role include one or more of the following metro locations: Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington, DC. The base compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $112,400 - $208,800. The base compensation range in other locations may vary. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
