What the day will look like
+ Market new and renewal business, handling all aspects of the placements from initial market selection through policy delivery to client.
+ With minimal guidance and supervision, identifies and analyzes client exposures and determines which markets to utilize, ensuring thorough evaluation of qualified companies in the marketplace.
+ Provides alternative options and/or design risk transfer/financing products for presentation to the client.
+ Ensure that placements are handled correctly and on time
+ Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of the Cargo insurance marketplace, products and services.
+ Develop productive business relationships with key insurance underwriters and Aon local office teams
+ Identify and analyze prospect and client exposures.
+ Coordinate activities with other internal units as required to meet customer needs.
+ Present to local account executives, participate in RFPs, client meetings and conference calls.
+ Builds productive working relationships with peers and higher-level professionals internally and externally to exchange information and make recommendations.
+ Key member of the client facing team, acting as a trusted advisor to the client in broking, designing, selling and servicing accounts.'
+ Frequently interacts with senior level colleagues and clients, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or clients and the company.
How this opportunity is different
Our team has experience in dealing with some of the largest marine catastrophes in history, giving our clients a distinct advantage when responding to the worstcase scenario. Our clients include all types of maritime business, large and small, handling onshore and offshore exposures for ship owners/operators; ports, terminals and marinas; ship and boat builders; and distributors. Our cargo experts provide solutions to firms in any industry sector whose goods are distributed and/or stored.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
+ 2+ years of marine insurance brokerage and/or underwriting experience and/or related experience.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various levels.
+ Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, exceptional organizational skills, ability to make and communicate difficult decisions.
+ Effective working knowledge of carrier underwriting practices & processes.
+ Proven skills in working with teams and ability to work with clients and to successfully exceed client expectations.
+ Proven client facing skills including effective presentations & communications.
+ Proven organization and ability to work with others.
+ Successfully operates in a fast-paced driven environment that requires the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Sales experience preferred.
+ Must maintain appropriate broker’s license
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of industry experience.

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $85,000 to $125,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.
This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive [an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
