Broker Manager, Individual Ancillary Products

The Retail Segment is a growing channel for Guardian. We allow consumers to shop, quote, enroll, and pay for individual ancillary benefits such as dental, vision, and accident. Products are available directly from us online, through partnerships with brokers, agencies, aggregators, and through the government exchanges. Growth in this channel has been accelerated by healthcare reform, evolving consumer preferences, growth of retirees and gig/part-time workforce which has resulted in an influx of new individuals shopping and purchasing their benefits online and through our broker partners.

In the Broker Manager, Individual Ancillary Products role, you will be responsible for managing the overall relationship and growing sales of our individual ancillary products with an assigned portfolio of broker and agency partners nationwide. This includes:

Managing an assigned portfolio of brokers and agencies, acting as the key liaison to ensure Guardian is providing the necessary support to enable the sale of Guardian individual ancillary products.Building trust in the broker community by providing first class service to your brokers and act as their main point of contact to ensure they have everything to support their customers and sales processes.Being responsible for annual revenue targets, including sales and persistency growth, and enrollment targets.

You Will:

Manage and grow your assigned portfolio of broker and agency relationships by creating and executing strategies to increase sales YoY. This includes ongoing relationship building as well as tactical planning such as product trainings, agent recruitment, resolving broker issues, visiting partners alongside your Business Development Lead, attending yearly kick-off events, managing Broker inquiries, and more.Act as the key liaison for your broker and agency partners. Day-to-day activities include partnering with internal teams to ensure your brokers/agencies receive the support they need, and filling support gaps as needed.Strategize and prioritize broker relationships according to their ability to meet or exceed expectations and regularly communicate those opportunities and your priorities to Distribution leadership.Develop a presence in the market by maintaining strong external relationships with agencies, brokers and other key producers that are assigned to you.Support your broker and agency partners throughout the sales process in all sales-oriented activities including marketing, advertising, sales promotions, and training to achieve revenue targets.Establish feedback loop between brokers, agencies, and internal Guardian teams to ensure our products and capabilities are aligned with market demand.Own the annual review cycles with your assigned broker and agency partners with the goal of strengthening the relationship and creating new revenue opportunities.Apply analytic skills and creative problem solving to fill capability gaps.Develop monthly reports on relevant business metrics to forecast growth, surface initiatives in flight, and highlight revenue opportunities across your portfolio of partners.Build case studies with current partners to showcase recent wins and collaboration.

You Have:

6+ years of relevant sales experience working with brokers is requiredIndividual Medical and/or Dental product experience requiredEstablished broker relationships is required to ramp up quickly and drive new sales relationshipsHistory of consistently delivering sales resultsAbility to build strong working relationships with internal and external partners, collaborate and lead through influenceExcellent oral and written communication skills, executive presenceExperience thriving in a fast-paced, evolving environmentAbility to meet or exceed goals with minimal guidance4-year university degree requiredFrequent travel is required as needed

The work arrangement will be flexible.Preferred locations include the following:New York, NYBoston, MABethlehem, PA

Salary Range:

$93,080.00 - $152,915.00

The salary range reflected above is a good faith estimate of base pay for the primary location of the position. The salary for this position ultimately will be determined based on the education, experience, knowledge, and abilities of the successful candidate. In addition to salary, this role may also be eligible for annual, sales, or other incentive compensation.
