Broker Technician – PACE, London

Are you an experienced Broker Technician with a track record of drafting wording for your clients? The Personal Accident Contingency and Event’s team (PACE) are Marsh’s global placement hub for contingency and specialist personal accident insurance across the Marsh network. As the largest P&L within Marsh’s leading Sport, Entertainment and Media (SEM) industry group, the PACE team are market and client-facing placement experts for the unique risks produced by the global Marsh network. On the Contingency side, this mainly focusses on major sports, conference and live music opportunities focusing on event cancellation and non-appearance insurance.

The successful candidate will be required to work closely with client and market facing colleagues across the Marsh global network on the implementation of placement processes for Marsh clients requiring specialist contingency coverages. Our client portfolio includes large multi-national organizations across several industry segments which we engage with from a wholesale and retail basis. Typical work could include drafting contingency wordings for the largest promoters and event organizers to providing final deal-making submissions on PPL. You will also act as the reference point for back-office expertise to client servicing teams and often direct to insurers to square away endorsement, stamp and PPL tasks.

The variety of opportunities across the network are vast and the ideal candidate will have a technical wordings and PPL experience seeking a new challenge in a fast-moving team.

We will count on you to:

Assist the delivery of placements for new business and renewals working in close collaboration with colleagues.Understand the document needs of our clients and deliver these in a timely manner to our brokers.Be the go-to colleague contact on back-office questions maintaining a level of service where responds take no longer than 24hrs and invoices and documents are delivered as quickly as possible.Provide regular updates to the Client Service teams on progress of wordings, client onboarding, invoicing and paying markets.Utilize the online trading systems such as PPL Next Gen.Act as a referral point for the resolution of insurer queries.Attend client and insurer meetings in partnership with the client service teamEnsure operational procedures are followed and can be demonstrated at all times including using our client filing portal FusionBuild strong relationships with insurers and seek feedback on Marsh’s service through ongoing dialogue.

What you need to have: 

Proven broking tech/account handling or underwriting tech in Lloyds is essential. Minimum 4 years.Awareness of Clients’ business, their business issues, insurance programmes and service plansStrong communication skills.Excellent insurer trading & details policy documentation skills.Proven relationship management experience with a strong insurer/broker network of contactsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously.A strong attitude for working within a team environment is essential.
