SIG has a job opening for an Operations Analyst to join our Equity and Options brokerage operations team in our Bala Cynwyd office.
In this role, you will sit right on the trading desk directly interfacing with the traders you are supporting in addition to our customers, custodians, and clearing firms. You will gain exposure to the full operational support of products traded across this desk (Domestic and Foreign Equities, US Listed Options, Portfolio trading) from execution by the trader through to settlement and clearing. You will also build knowledge and support processes related to cost management for the desk’s trading activity. In carrying out your role, we will look to you to suggest systems enhancements and opportunities for automation as well as to test new functionality prior to its rollout across the desk. You will also have direct involvement in the identification and resolution of any variances as well as the opportunity or research/resolve trade breaks or any trade related issues that come up through the course of a normal trading day.

In this role, you will:
Maintain and support operational activities related to equities and options trading activity on the deskDrive towards automation and continuous process improvement to ensure any issues that arise are resolved as quickly as possibleManage high volume of emails/calls per day from traders, clients, clearing firms, etc.; leverage technology resources available to automate wherever possible to ensure prompt resolution of inquiries/issuesCoordinate with technology team members to drive, test and facilitate automation opportunities and/or process improvements on the deskLeverage tools such as Excel, VBA, SQL and/or Access to improve reporting capabilities and increase the speed with which any variances are resolvedActively liaise with team members and our Documentation Specialist to facilitate client account opening and onboarding ensuring processes are seamlessTroubleshoot and problem solve issues that may arise with trading activity on the deskProvide support to both customers and sales traders as neededWhat we're looking for
Bachelors degree required; specialization in finance or a related discipline preferredMinimum of one year of professional, co-op and/or internship experience in a trade support role required; previous experience supporting or with exposure to Foreign and/or Domestic Equities, US Listed Options, and/or Portfolio trading preferredPossession of Series 7 & 55 licenses, or the ability to obtain both licenses within six months of hire, requiredDemonstrated and strong experience with Excel required; experience with VBA, Access and/or SQL preferredProven ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure
Experience with Omgeo Products (Oasys, CTM, Alert), Fidessa, Nasdaq ACT workstation or other trading programs, a plus
