This position is open to instructors interested in teaching in Portland, Oregon, and/or in our online (asynchronous) program. Our recent need is a more robust pool of adjuncts teaching in-person. Each academic year, there is a need to hire adjunct faculty to teach. While there is no guarantee that a course you are interested in and qualified to teach will be seeking additional instructors, qualified instructors are frequently hired to teach across the curriculum.
The BSW Program will collect applications on an ongoing basis to fill vacancies throughout the academic year. Review of applications occurs as new sections or instructors are needed. Minimum Qualifications M.S. or M.A. in Social Work (or closely related field) and two years post-degree practice experience. Seminar and Liaison positions require: two or more years in combination of the following: – field liaison; or – BSW/MSW field instructor; or – staff supervisor; or – social work educator, trainer or community member in service to social work higher education. Preferred Qualifications Previous undergraduate teaching experience.

Compensation Adjunct faculty are paid per credit hour, per the AFT CBA: 2020-2025 PSUFA Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary may be adjusted above the minimum rates based on qualifications and experience.
