Element has an opportunity for a BT-SIG Parametric Sr Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities The responsibility for the BT-SIG verification/certification testing of various wireless connected devices, including cellular phones, tablets, notebooks and IoT products.Develop the test scope/specification for BT-SIG certification and other short-range communication technologiesWork with customers to develop parametric verification test plans for BT, UWB, GNSSClient interaction skills: Demonstrated ability to work with customers, determine their requirements, secure additional business, define and assist in solving problems, and generally ensure their total satisfactionProblem solving skills including the ability to lead groups of diverse people through a problem-solving processThe ability to organize and prioritize daily activities and workload in a resource constrained environmentEffective oral and written communications skills including the ability to deliver presentations to in-house and client/vendor audiencesStrong skills as a team leader and ability to work well with peersSchedule work to ensure that Turn-Around-Times (TAT) for all submissions, whether entered on a regular or rush basis, are maintained within standardsInstruct staff in new or revised test methods and standards, new technologies and use of new equipment and materials. Interpret technical information, problems and issues for staff as required, ensuring a clear understanding of their objectives and directionActively participate in regional and globally relevant industry, regulatory, and market associations that would benefit the region, global service line and divisionMaintain a high level of technical competence and understanding through continual reading and review of various publications and other sources of technical information, including associations, ultimately transferring information to staff on a daily basis Skills / Qualifications BEng in electronic and electrical engineering/BSc Computer Science or equivalent experience
Min 5 years’ experience in the wireless test and inspection industryUnderstanding of the requirement for a Bluetooth recognized test facility.Knowledge of BT-SIG standards, and the certification requirementsUnderstanding of IEEE 802.11 and protocol specificationsUnderstanding of BT ICS/IXITBluetooth SIG BQC (an advantage)Knowledge of programming language such as Python, JavaScript, Java etc
