Responsibilities Participate in long and short-range financial planning, budgetary authorizations and financial management system requirements. Develop detailed analyses for annual funding needs, formulates budget estimates and interprets project data for assigned organizations. Provide budgetary guidance to local managers, supervisors and lower level personnel. Prepare financial reports to the National Operations Center, State and Washington Offices. Serve as system/process administrator for various automated financial or budget systems. For GS-09: Specialized Experience: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Review funding documents to determine whether obligations and/or expenditures are within the funding limitations of the approved budget. Utilize automated budget and accounting systems to track financial transaction. Review and research accounting reports in order to balance financial transactions. -OR- Education: Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR L.L.B. or J.D., if related. - OR- Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. For GS-11: Specialized Experience: You must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples: Perform routine budget analysis functions such as development, preparation, and revision of the budget, fund estimates, and project plans. Provide required data and assistance in developing budget and program planning summaries; Assist with the review, coordination and analysis of budgetary documents, allocations, and operating budgets. -OR- Education: Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree OR L.L. M., if related. - OR- Combination of Education and Experience: You may meet qualifications requirement for this position with an equivalent combination of specialized experience and appropriate graduate education. Graduate level education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of this position. Physical Demands: The work is principally sedentary with a moderate amount of standing and walking. Work Environment: Work is typically performed in an adequately lighted and climate controlled office. Occasional travel may be required.
