Summary About the Position: The incumbent works directly under the Chief, Vicksburg Contracting Office and performs a wide variety of budgetary, administrative, and technical tasks for the Vicksburg Contracting Office (VCO). Responsibilities Responsible for the formulation and programming of the Vicksburg Contracting Office account budget. Prepares Purchase Requests and Commitments in Corps of Engineers Financial Management System for goods and services needed for various repairs, maintenance, and purchases, in-house and Labor Purchase Requests and Commitments. Serves as the point of contact (Point Of Contact) and has the primary responsibility for coordinating and preparing the annual operating budget for the Vicksburg Contracting Office. Acts as the principal advisor to the Division Chief and Branch Chiefs in the presentation and defense of the Vicksburg Contracting Office annual operating budget to the District budget committees. Utilizes a Financial Management System such as Corps of Engineers Financial Management System to create and fund work items; allocates funds; and assigns proper resource codes; 2.) Coordinates and prepares the annual operating budget; AND 3.)Performs analysis of budgetary feeder data and makes recommendations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18.
