Description We are in search of a Budget Manager to join our team in New York. Working within our finance department, you will be an integral part of our team, managing the annual budget and providing variance analysis. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the preparation of quarterly budget vs. actual reports and annual budget templates.
• Use the organization's Power BI dashboard to monitor budget vs. actuals.
• Provide detailed quarterly variance analysis and explanation at both the departmental and organization-wide levels.
• Assist in the mid-year forecasting process through discussions with departments, year-to-date expense analysis, and variance explanation.
• Aid in the annual budget development process by gathering departmental requests and consolidating the overall organizational budget.
• Help in preparing operating and capital budget reports and memos for board meetings.
• Carry out specific ad hoc analyses as requested, such as the analysis of contract amounts vs. budget.
• Develop budget presentation materials for Director and CFO when required. Requirements • Position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in budget management or a related field.
• Proficiency in annual budget preparation is mandatory.
• Demonstrable knowledge of budget processes is essential.
• Experience in creating and managing annual operating budgets is necessary.
• Expertise in budget management is a key requirement.
• Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting tools and techniques is needed.
• Ability to manage departmental budgets is required.
• Experience in handling expense budgets is a must.
• Proven experience in operating budgets is crucial.
• Ability to prepare annual budgets is a significant requirement.
• Proficiency in variance analysis is key.
• Expertise in forecasting and modeling is crucial.
• Prior experience in forecasting is required.
• Knowledge of non-profit accounting is essential.
• Experience in fund accounting in a non-profit environment is advantageous.
