Southern Industrial is seeking individuals looking to get into the trades for our next Apprenticeship program starting February 2025. Candidates should be interested in getting into one of the following fields: electrical, rigging, millwright or pipe fitting.  No per diem is offered.  Must be local to the Raleigh Durham, NC area.

Basic Scope/Purpose:

Southern Industrial is seeking individuals looking to get into the trades for our next Apprenticeship program starting on February 17th 2025. This is a great paid opportunity to learn and develop skills though a combination of classroom and hands on training.  We welcome those with little or no experience and a desire to work hard.  Candidates will be selected for the program based on interviews and interest expressed.  Candidates should be interested in getting into one of the following fields: electrical, rigging, millwright or iron work.  Candidates must be local to the Raleigh area as no per diem is offered during this training period.

Program Overview

This is a 14 week program.  The basic structure consists of two weeks of introductory training that includes industry and company specifics, OSHA safety training, life skills discussions, and basic tool and equipment introductions for various trades. This introductory period is followed by one month of jobsite(s) work.  The trainees are placed in real life situations to learn and grow in the industry through hands-on observation and hard work.  After this one month field based period, the candidates are brought back into our training facility for 8 weeks of classroom and intensive hands on training in site planning, tool use, safety, and will be engaging in actual construction projects.  At the end of this 14 weeks period the successful candidates that demonstrated interest, desire, and progressed in skills and knowledge will be offered full time employment in a trade of their choice and will be entered in our long term apprenticeship program working toward becoming a journeyman through on the job and classroom training.
