POSITION:           Building Engineer

DEPARTMENT:  Operations

REPORTS TO:     Director of Operations

FLSA STATUS:    Full-time, Exempt

SALARY: $60K - $75K Based on Experience and Credentials

Summary

ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities has an excellent and immediate opening for a Building Engineer for ASM Rockford which includes the BMO Center, Coronado Theatre, and Davis Park. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Building Engineer will supervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, tools, and facilities within ASM Rockford venues. This individual will oversee the maintenance staff and manage all building automated systems including HVAC, fire system, and ice plant.  In addition, this position will assist the Director of Operations in coordinating service calls, renovations, remodeling projects, and new construction.​ 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Operates, inspects, maintains, and make adjustments to all building automated systems including air handlers, HVAC, ice plant, and plumbing systems.​ Ensures all equipment is maintained to factory specifications and maintains accurate records.​ Responsible for general building maintenance and upkeep.​ Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly workspaces.​ Assists with the hiring, training, and supervision of pertinent staff.​ Assists other departments as needed to ensure efficient operation of the venues.Assures facility readiness and smooth operations of events for first class customer service.Utilizes and is primary administrator of multiple computerized task management systems, including ALTUM and We Track, and ensures completion of assigned work.Adheres to all ASM Global Safety Policies and Procedures while performing within all OSHA guidelines.Respond to visual and audible alarms from building automation and life safety systems.  Make immediate decisions and communicate with all users of the facility in an emergency situation.Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Education level of AA/AS, trade school certification or higherRefrigeration certificationBoilers license

Ability to carry and climb laddersAbility to lift and carry 50 lbs. and move 100 lbs. with assistanceAbility to Operate equipment such as light trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts, boom lifts, or other light power driven equipment.Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment common to the construction tradeAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and instructionsAbility to work varying hours, including days, nights, weekends and holidays

Computer Skills  

General computer skills to operate in an administrative environment (i.e., Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel)
