Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Building Engineer with experience in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in steam equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This role involves maintaining the facility's operational efficiency and safety through preventive and corrective maintenance.

ResponsibilitiesPerform HVAC maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.Conduct electrical and plumbing repairs and maintenance.Execute general maintenance tasks to ensure the facility's operational efficiency.Manage steam equipment, including steam boiler systems, condensate return lines, and heating coils or radiators.Complete work orders and manage work order systems.Perform preventive maintenance on various mechanical and electrical systems.Repair and maintain hot water generators and convertors.Read and interpret blueprints for maintenance and repair tasks.Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards.Essential SkillsExperience with HVAC maintenance and repair.Knowledge of electrical systems and plumbing repair.Proficiency in general maintenance tasks.Mechanical aptitude for handling steam equipment and hot water generators.Ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical systems.Experience with work order systems.Capability to perform preventive and corrective maintenance.Familiarity with blueprints and mechanical schematics.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with sprinkler equipment and centrifugal repair.Proficiency in pneumatic equipment repair.EPA certification or similar credentials.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

This position involves working across our campus in the Center City area, with all locations within walking distance. The work environment is unionized, and individuals are eligible to join the union after a 90-day probation period. The role offers various shifts, including 1st (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM), 2nd (3:00 PM - 11:30 PM), and 3rd (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM), from Sunday to Thursday or Tuesday to Saturday. This is a vibrant and dynamic setting that requires adherence to high safety and operational standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.10 - $34.10
