We are recruiting for aBuilding Engineer for a leading industrial client in the aluminium manufacturing sector. About the Role: As a Building Engineer with CBRE, you will play a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation and maintenance of building systems across various disciplines, including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. You will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and repairing these systems to uphold the highest standards of performance and safety. This position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services team, tasked with providing essential support, preventive maintenance, and repairs on all building equipment and systems. What You’ll Do: + Comprehensive Maintenance: Conduct maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire safety, and control systems, ensuring that all facilities and building systems meet applicable standards. + Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all relevant codes, regulations, and company directives related to building operations and workplace safety. + Energy Management: Maintain an energy management program to ensure all systems operate efficiently and sustainably. + Preventive Maintenance: Assist in implementing a preventive maintenance program to extend the life of building machinery and systems, and perform emergency repairs as needed. + Safety Practices: Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment. + System Inspections: Review inspections of building systems, including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing, to ensure that all equipment operates within design specifications and meets the environmental conditions required by the client. + Innovative Solutions: Leverage in-depth knowledge of standard principles and procedures to tackle complex assignments and provide innovative solutions. + Mentorship: Coach and share knowledge with team members, fostering a collaborative environment and promoting best practices across multiple disciplines. + Leadership: Lead by example and embody CBRE's RISE values, working to build consensus and facilitate agreement among team members and stakeholders. + Operational Impact: Influence a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams. + Guideline Compliance: Operate within broad guidelines and policies while effectively communicating difficult or sensitive information. What You’ll Need: + Educational Background: High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-5 years of relevant job experience. A combination of experience and education may be considered in lieu of a diploma. Universal CFC certification is preferred. Relevant certifications/licenses as required by local or state jurisdictions are a plus. Prior shift management or supervisory experience is preferred. + Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet the physical demands of the role, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting/carrying loads of 50 lbs or more. + Judgment and Analysis: Ability to exercise sound judgment based on the analysis of multiple information sources. + Adaptability: Willingness to approach existing solutions from new perspectives. + Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. + Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills complemented by an inquisitive mindset, enabling proactive problem-solving. + Mathematical Skills: Sophisticated math abilities to calculate moderately complex figures, such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
