**Overview** The **Building Engineer** ( **Plumber)** will primarily be responsible for performing routine plumbing maintenance and repairs, including tasks such as fixing plumbing fixtures, clearing drains, and ensuring the functionality of restroom and breakroom plumbing systems. The position will also involve occasional HVAC cleaning, light mechanical maintenance, and general labor tasks. This role requires flexibility to handle various maintenance duties as assigned, including reporting safety hazards and significant maintenance issues to a supervisor. Additionally, the Utility Engineer will be responsible for tracking inventory supplies and maintaining clean, safe work environments, with a primary focus on plumbing system integrity and functionality. **Pay:**  $69.52/hour The pay listed is the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.  **Benefit Information: ** This is a union position and as such will include union benefits. **Responsibilities** : + Plumbing Repairs & Maintenance: Repair and maintenance of restroom and breakroom plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, faucets, and drains. + Drain Cleaning: Clear drains using a plunger, hand-held auger, or other plumbing tools as needed. + General labor, such as carrying, stacking, and organizing materials used in and around the job site. + Debris & Trash Removal: Remove debris and trash not part of the janitorial contract or scope of work. + Repairs and cleaning of HVAC registers, radiators, and return grills. + Minor repairs of furniture and maintaining/replacing door hardware. + Plumbing System Maintenance: Regular inspection and maintenance of plumbing systems, ensuring functionality and reporting any major plumbing issues. + Handyman Work: Miscellaneous handyman tasks requiring the limited use of hand tools. + Maintenance painting in mechanical and electrical rooms and common building areas. + Touch up painting in tenant spaces, when authorized by property management. + General cleaning in mechanical spaces and exterior entry areas. + Lockout/Tagout Compliance: Cleaning and painting of non-operating mechanical equipment in compliance with ABM Lockout/Tagout policies. + Replacing ceiling tiles, floor tiles, air filters, light fixtures, and fire extinguishers as needed. + Cleaning roof drains, air vents, and registers. + Hanging framed objects not requiring power tools other than cordless drill/drivers. **Qualifications** : + Plumbing experience and knowledge of plumbing systems is required. + Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow safety protocols, especially in plumbing repairs. + Ability to use plumbing and maintenance tools effectively, including hand tools and basic power tools. + Flexibility to perform a wide variety of tasks and adapt to changing work environments.
