Currently we are looking for a capable and independent individual for the following position as part of the multi-disciplinary team in our Taipei office. The successful candidate will basically be tasked with quality and safety supervision on works conducted by various contractors according to the approved design, as well as supporting design review activities on an airport project.
Building Envelope SENIOR Site Engineer (Based in Taiwan)
Key Responsibilities/Duties:
Day to day quality supervision of contractor's on-site and off-site productions in accordance with approved engineering drawings, calculations, materials, and relevant technical submissions, for compliance with specification and contractual design requirements Detailed review on method statements, safety measures, and quality control procedures in relation to productions Audit-witness production tests, check quality assurance system implied by the contractors, provide technical supports at installation in relation with design Resolve design issues due to site conditions or interfaces with other works on site. Provide clear records, replies to RFI and prepare draft SI Leading a team of local engineer and provide day to day management/coordination of all site supervision activities in relation with building envelope Regular liaison with the client's representatives, consultant teams, and other site engineers as required Keep clear records on all information received in relation with production, and prepare general progress reports to discipline leader Keep clear records on all production works and testing supervised, commented, and witnessed Identify and report any changes (variations) Ensuring Arup's best practices are implemented, and fairly and effectively represented on site Responsible for site quality control tasks Ensure the highest standard of integrity and probity within the consortium team
Qualifications & Experience required:
Bachelor Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited University with a Professional Engineering Registration or Chartered Engineer status Minimum 15 years' solid experience in design/review/supervision of building envelope, including curtain wall systems, metal roofing and building maintenance units. Candidate with less experience may be considered as Assistant Engineer Must have experience in site quality supervision for mega-scale infrastructure/building projects involving different stakeholders Experience to work on project with BIM environment Strong verbal and written communication skills in the Chinese and English language, with good report writing, analytical and computer skills Good organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail Be adaptable and able to work independently coupled with strong interpersonal skills
The above position based in Taipei will be on contract basis to work on a big construction project at the airport. The contract is approximately 36 months which may be lengthened or shortened subject to project development. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A relocation package will be offered along with assistance in obtaining relevant visas where necessary for overseas candidate.
