E. Student Union in a clean and orderly condition during the evening shift; perform heavy cleaning duties, such as cleaning floors, waxing, shampooing rugs, washing walls and glass, and removing rubbish; duties may include performing routine maintenance activities, notifying management of need for repairs, setting-up and preparing meeting rooms for special events and other duties as assigned. **Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities** The successful candidate must possess a working knowledge of cleaning practices; knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and their purpose in addition to how they are used in housekeeping; knowledge of buffers, carpet extractors, floor scrubbers and wet vac.; ability to perform heavy to medium physical work; ability to left up to 50 pounds; ability to multi-task in addition to bending and stooping frequently; to take initiative to see projects and assignments through to completion; to learn, interpret and analyze information to make necessary decisions; to exercise judgment and discretion in problem solving; to plan, prioritize and organize workflow; ability to work flexible schedules; excellent analytical and organizational skills along with written and oral communication skills; great interpersonal skills to interact effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of individuals in a high pressure environment. **Minimum Education/Experience** Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
