Position Summary Create and maintain a clean, safe, inviting environment for students, staff living or working in Residence Halls on campus, and all visitors. Minimum Qualifications
Some knowledge of cleaning procedures, ability to follow instructions and to perform medium to heavy physical work; an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special certification may be required for some of these positions. Salary Grade Equivalency Key Responsibilities ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Key Responsibility Summer Cleaning Essential Tasks Clean all assigned rooms, cleaning everything above the baseboards. Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables if it applies. Clean doors, windows/window sills, spot clean walls, etc. Strip, recoat, clean carpet, upholstered furniture, room set up by standards. All other duties assigned. Key Responsibility Clean Common Areas Essential Tasks On a daily basis – clean all common areas, floors, mirrors, dusting radiators, water fountains, stairwells, elevators, windows/window sill, etc. Remove and properly dispose of trash and recyclables if it applies. All other duties as assigned. Key Responsibility Clean Kitchens and Laundry Rooms Essential Tasks On a daily basis – clean counter tops, stove tops, floors, appliances, etc. All other duties as assigned. Key Responsibility Clean Bathrooms Essential Tasks On a daily basis – clean toilet bowls, seats, base, shower walls, all partitions, floor drains, tubs, urinals, pipes, soap dispensers and all fixtures, vents, and mirrors. Keep bathrooms odor free and sanitized. Remove trash and clean trash receptacles as needed. All other duties as assigned. Key Responsibility Safety and Health Compliance Essential Tasks On a daily basis check chemical stations, bottles, all equipment for any malfunctions, safety and health checks. All other duties as assigned. Contacts appropriate personnel (supervisor and lead person) when needed. Reports injuries, illnesses or unsafe acts or conditions. Competency Level Contributing Competency Knowledge—Technical Competency Description Performs basic cleaning such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, disinfecting, vacuuming, etc., to keep working areas in a clean and orderly condition.
