The Battery Manufacturing Engineering team is opening new highways with our next-generation propulsion systems. In this position...

As a Building & Facilities Engineer you will lead the specification and delivery of Facility and Infrastructure to support PTO programs, from simultaneous engineering through program launch for all Global PTO sites.

You'll have...

•    Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology, or (significant) equivalent certifications or experience.
•    1+ year of experience in an Industrial manufacturing setting
•    Practical, on-floor experience in industrial settings or equipment installation
•    Strong project/program management skills, specifically with management of installation contractors.
•    Ability to develop timing and workplans and coordinate activities for building infrastructure and equipment installation across multiple organizations.
•    Strong organizational skills.
•    Desire to develop a diverse skillset including, air handling, contamination elimination and prevention, power distribution, foundations, etc.
•    3D CAD review abilities, ability to read 2D blueprints and construction drawings.

What you'll do...

•    Deliver new model program work for various Ford programs.
•    Lead simultaneous engineering meetings with suppliers for planning and execution of equipment installation.
•    Define the scope of equipment installation, seek quotations, and contract appropriate resources after reviewing bids and awarding contracts.
•    Provide on-site support for process engineering teams, equipment suppliers, internal trades, and installation contractors.  During installation and launch, travel and on-site presence are required.
•    Communicate project status and open issues to leadership and stakeholders during program and cross-functional team review meetings.
•    Direct activities of installation contractors and / or internal trades to install and power on equipment according to required program timing.
•    Oversight and tracking of contractor or internal trades performance and efficiency.
•    Coordinate and track program facilities funding and maintain financial checkbook.  
•    Support program studies and financial assessment for new or changing program content. 
•    Work to ensure equipment performance specifications are met and lead successful transfer of equipment to plant manufacturing teams.
•    Procure installation materials, equipment rentals, and infrastructure required to support project delivery.
•    Represent Building and Facilities in commodity and process discussions.
•    Ensure the identification and capture of lessons learned along with their application to new programs, as well as the impact to existing strategies and standards.
•    Coordinate manufacturing engineering process requirements with Ford Land activities to ensure central utilities support the needs of manufacturing systems.
•    Work with Federal, State and Local jurisdictions, and coordinate necessary building permits and inspections.
•    Liaison with Ford Corporate Fire Protection to ensure adequate fire protection for operations and compliance with AON insurance underwriting.
•    Obtain architectural and/or certified PE stamped drawings, as required, for equipment, structural, fire protection, or other program related deliverables that are the responsibility of manufacturing engineering.
•    Coordinate structural lifting device certification per Ford Manufacturing Engineering Standards.
•    Provide subject matter expertise to building and facilities, and process engineering teams in electrical power and controls areas.|
•    Lead / support troubleshooting of equipment start-up with a focus on electrical power and controls items 
•    Lead strategy and design of emergency power systems for protection and preservation of process equipment
•    Work with external and internal electrical engineering teams to ensure facilities and process equipment designs comply with Ford standards and all regulatory requirements
•    Coordinate and oversee electrical trades planning and installation activities
