Overview TRC is looking for Building Inspectors to join our team in Sacramento, CA for work expected to start April 1, 2023. This inspector will review construction plans, and/or inspects all residential, commercial, industrial buildings, and other structures in Sacramento County to determine compliance with applicable local, state and national codes. This position requires possession of a valid Combination Dwelling Inspector or Plans Examiner Certificate as issued by the International Conference of Building Officials (I.C.B.O.) or equivalent. Responsibilities Review submittals for compliance with owner requirements, project plans, and specifications. Provide daily inspections and complete documentation including daily reports documenting contractor labor, equipment, daily construction progress, project site visitors, non-conforming work, safety issues, field measured quantiles, field discussions with the contractor and public, and daily project photographs, etc. Inspecting the building structure, plumbing, electrical, sewerage, and heating systems for local building code, safety, and specification compliance. Coordinate with clients/owners, other consultants, contractors, materials testers and others involved with the project. Assist Construction Managers and provide input on project schedule, extra work bills, potential change orders, and claims. Read and interpret project plans and specifications. Monitor construction for compliance with project documents including collecting and checking material tags and certificates of compliance. Measure, calculate, and document quantities of installed materials in accordance with client policies and procedures. Develop and maintain a log to track deficiencies and confirm resolution issues. Oversee and document testing performed by the contractor, including functional testing of building systems. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Bachelor-s degree in engineering, architecture, or building inspection technology. 1 years- experience reviewing construction plans, performing routine inspections of residential buildings, mobile homes and other structures to determine compliance with applicable local, state and national codes. OR Certificate of completion of a Building Inspection Program from an accredited college or university. Possession of a valid Combination Dwelling Inspector or Plans Examiner Certificate as issued by the International Conference of Building Officials (I.C.B.O.) or equivalent. Compensation: In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $58,000-$107,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
