Building Maintenance Mechanic II - Facilities Management

Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

Maintains various types of building and mechanical systems to include, but not limited to: refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, automation, medical gas and fire protection systems, Energy Management, and Work Order Management systems.

Under limited supervision, ensure safe and efficient operation of various types of mechanical systems to include, but not limited to: building, refrigeration, air conditioning, heating, plumbing, electrical, automation, medical gas and fire protection systems, and follows through to completion any required repairs maintenance and alterations

Participates in skilled maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, electrical, buildings and structures and ensures they are well-maintained, including: boilers, chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, air handling equipment, variable frequency drives and  remote terminal units. 

Leads or Participates in skilled ceilings, walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, furniture, framework, drywall, and locks.

Ensure maintenance of all systems as required by applicable codes and standards.

Log equipment performance readings as assigned.

Ensure that personnel are trained, and supplies are available to keep all structures in good repair

Stay abreast of Building Maintenance Mechanics by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Maintains building components such as ceilings, walls, floors, roofs, doors, windows, elevators, stairways and building interior & exterior.

Perform Preventive Maintenance Measures.

Maintain inventory of repair equipment and supplies.

Log daily reading of equipment and systems as assigned.

Review Work Orders daily and complete associated tasks/repairs by Type/Priority.

Perform other maintenance duties as requested.

Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and follow safety protocols.

Makes initial determination of how to affect repairs and refers extensive repairs to appropriate technician.

Requires the ability to work under/handle stressful situations.

 

Work schedule: 80 Hour bi-weekly

Qualifications/Training: Minimum of a High school diploma/GED. Must possess a minimum of 6 years of experience maintaining commercial/industrial building systems. In lieu of High school diploma/GE, 10 years of experience in building maintenance is acceptable,  Must be able to demonstrate general computer data entry.  

 

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education:  Valid Drivers license and acceptable driving record is required.
