Building Maintenance Technician

Job Overview:

As the Building Maintenance Technician, you will ensure the building and facility is livable, safe and compliant by performing regular inspections, preventive and routine maintenance, repairs and coordinating and managing vendors.  

Compensation: $21+ per hour, based on experience

FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Your Responsibilities:

Ensure building and systems are maintained properly and in safe working order (i.e. mechanical systems, electrical, fire safety, access control, chilling towers, sprinkler systems, etc) Maintain recreational amenities (i.e. rooftop pool and terrace, lounge areas, common areas) Assist in maintaining the common areas by picking up any trash and debris Conduct routine inspections Manage preventive inspection and maintenance schedule and corresponding work Keep accurate operational, maintenance and repair logs Help coordinate and perform modifications and improvements Schedule and coordinate state inspections of building and equipment (annual fire system testing, elevator inspections, recall testing, etc.) Ensure emergency maintenance situations are handled timely and properly Maintain an emergency response plan, including vendors and other necessary contacts

Skills and Qualifications:

Knowledge of building mechanics, operations methods and operating requirements (i.e. plumbing, HVAC systems, electrical systems, rooftop pool maintenance, etc) Organized, with the ability to prioritize and adjust to incoming demands Able to use tools, equipment, and chemicals safely Able to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions in a timely and effective manner Able to work independently and as part of a team Superb attention to detail

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent required 2+ years of commercial, residential, high-rise, or HOA maintenance experience preferred EPA 608 (HVAC) certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time Must be able to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds Must be able to perform in various weather conditions (i.e. rain, heat, cold, wind, etc) Must be able to respond to on-site emergencies on nights, holidays, and/or weekends

Work Location: Optima Biltmore Towers; 4808 N 24th St, Phoenix, AZ 85016

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day with some on-call responsibilities for emergencies.
