Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Building Maintenance Technician to join our team. The role involves performing plumbing jobs, adjusting and repairing pipes, plumbing fixtures, valves, floats, drains, grease traps, sump pumps, air-conditioning units, freezers, refrigerators, hot water heaters, HVAC units, and more. You will also unclog drain lines and sewers and make minor adjustments to building controls. During the summer, you will assist with the turnover of dorms and preventive maintenance.

ResponsibilitiesPerform plumbing jobs such as adjustment and repair of pipes and plumbing fixtures, valves, floats, drains, grease traps, sump pumps, watering systems, air-conditioning units, freezers, refrigerators, hot water heaters, HVAC units, heat pumps, fan coil units, induction units, and terminal reheat.Unclog drain lines and sewers.Make minor adjustments to building controls.Assist with the turnover of dorms and preventive maintenance while students are out for the summer.Direct 9 Multi-trade Maintenance Mechanics, 1 HVAC Technician, and 5 Painters.Essential SkillsThree years of directly related experience in facilities maintenance.Proficiency in plumbing, electrical, troubleshooting, installation, and repair.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Computer skills.Ability to interact professionally with all constituents including students, parents, faculty, staff, and external parties.Valid driver's license.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School or Trade School Graduate.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work shift is from 8am to 4pm. The role involves sitting in a normal seated position for extended periods of time, moving around all areas of a construction site, including climbing ladders, and manipulating objects with fingers, such as using a keyboard. Communication skills using spoken word are necessary, as well as the ability to see and hear within normal parameters. Occasionally, lifting and carrying objects weighing 10 lbs. or less may be required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Baltimore, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $25.00
