Building Maintenance Technician
**Job Title: Building Maintenance Technician (New Orleans, LA)** **Job Description** This candidate will drive 500-2000 miles a week to commercial outlet stores within the region to perform and complete maintenance work orders. Maintenance tasks include painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and working with locks. The candidate must communicate effectively with customers and possess the technical skills necessary to complete work orders. The candidate will primarily work alone but can call in for assistance on specific projects. **Responsibilities** + Travel 500-2000 miles a week to various commercial outlet stores. + Perform maintenance tasks including painting, plumbing, electrical, masonry, cleaning, welding, drywall, and working with locks. + Communicate effectively with customers and store managers. + Use an internal app to log hours, document work, and communicate via the internal system. + Drive own vehicle and carry necessary tools and equipment. + Work independently with occasional assistance on specific projects. **Essential Skills** + 5+ years of commercial electrical experience including low voltage troubleshooting, changing breakers, new circuits, soldering, outlets, light switches, and water heaters. + 5+ years of residential/commercial plumbing experience including drain cleaning and changing toilets, sinks, and faucets. + Experience with painting, including touch-ups, hand brushes, and spray guns. + Experience with drywall hanging and finishing, including Level 5 finish capabilities and stucco or EIFS experience. + Experience with masonry, including working with brick and stone. + Welding experience including MIG, stick, and spot welding for gate hinges or fencing. + Experience with residential/commercial pad locks or electrical locks. + Comfortable driving 500-2000 miles a week in own vehicle. + Ability to download and use an app for logging hours and documenting work. + Valid driver's license and proof of insurance. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Hand tools needed: angle grinder, tape measure, multimeter, channel locks, spare batteries/charger, circular saw, drywall tools, claw/2-3 lbs mini sledge, crescent wrenches, sander, impact driver, speed square, receptacle tester, needle nose, socket/ratchet set, reciprocating saw, drill/driver, levels, non-contact voltage tester, lineman pliers, oscillating saw, battery power tools. + Steel-toe boots recommended. + PPE provided based on project requirements including mask, respirator, harness, goggles, gloves, etc. **Why Work Here?** Employees receive their own Amax card to purchase parts or products for jobs, mileage reimbursement at 50 cents per mile, and access to over 300 hours of free training. Expect to work 10-20 hours of overtime per week. Training is provided for the first week. Typical day involves 50/50 inside and outside work, reaching 3-8 clients a day, and traveling 500-2000 miles a week. Work is 90%-95% individual, with communication with store managers and use of an internal database to log hours and submit work orders. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spring Lake, Michigan. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
